I love the service I just received from Horizon Heating. Two other much larger companies told me separately that I needed a new motor which would cost me $2,500 and they recommended I replace my 18 year old furnace with a new one because the motow would be so expensive and my furnace is already 18 years old... One of the large companies quoted me $10,000 to replace my furnace and the other one quoted me $7,200 to replace the furnace with a furnace that was totally comparable to the $10,000 furnace.....!!!! I was gobsmacked at the price difference. I was devastated to pay that kind of money.

I decided to reach out to Horizon Heating because my neighbour highly recommended them, and they also support my favorite publicly supported radio station, CKUA (93.7 fm in Calgary).

Knud came out, and I just told him my furnace was making a grating noise, and it seemed like there was something really wrong. He pulled out the motor and confirmed it needed to be replaced. He said he had one in his truck and that he could replace it for around $750.00, which he did. He assured me my furnace was running just fine, and if I kept replacing the filter regularly, it could last me a very long time!!

Let's review: one large heating company quoted $10,000, and another large heating company quoted me $7,200. Both large companies quoted me $2500 just to replace the motor!!!

Knud came in, confirmed I needed a new motor, quoted me $750, and told me he had one in the truck. It took him an hour or so to replace it and my furnace is running beautifully. He assured me I did not need to replace the entire furnace... YAAAY.

Knud is an old-school, no BS kinda guy, which I REALLY appreciated. He explained everything to me very carefully, and I understand that I need to check my filter regularly, especially as I have 2 cats. If I do that, my furnace can last me a long time.

I would LOVE to call out the 2 large companies who were absolutely trying to take advantage of me, but I won't. I just want to sing the praises of Knud and Horizon Heating, which, by the way, is a locally owned shop. Let's use locally owned businesses rather than the large ones that operate across the country who don't give a damn as they only care about profits.

I would HIGHLY recommend calling Horizon Heating if you are having HVAC problems. As a new first time home owner I had no idea who to call or what to do when my furnace would not stay on in -25 Calgary weather. Horizon answered the phone right away, they were super knowledgeable and friendly, and sent out a technician (Kyle) within 2 hours! The issue was fixed in under an hour and the price was very reasonable. I’ll definitely be calling them for all maintenance and repairs in the future! They really know their stuff.

I was suitably impressed w/ all installation aspects: gas fitting, plumbing (for condensate pump and humidifier), tin bashing, venting, clean-up and electrical. High quality. The only ‘corners cut’ were necessary corners on the tin fitting. Kudos to tech team: Jordan, Tony, Nathan, Brandon and estimator Scott. I’m glad I passed on a competitor’s lower estimate. I’m confident the craftsmanship wouldn’t have been there. All my Q’s were answered and crew’s Q back to me was answered affirmatively: “Happy w/ work so far and completion?” My response: “Absolutely.” Thank you Horizon Heating staff. 2nd pic of shelved condensate pump was my creation: up / off the basement floor.

We recently spent a small fortune replacing our 3 furnaces with an Infinity heat pump and furnace system. We had gotten numerous quotes and they were the only ones to offer an alternative system. They were not the cheapest. Neither were they the most expensive. We believe we got value for our money. The installation was not straightforward or easy. They accomodated some of our concerns which made their work more difficult. As a result, there were a few hiccups. I contacted them about issues we were having. They responded right away. The service has been excellent. The owner, Matthew, deserves a lot of credit for putting together a reputable company that stands behind and services what they sell. Keep up the good work. If you need a new HVAC system, I advise you to give them a call.

If you are not using Horizon Heating your probably using the wrong company. Being a property manager, I have used a few Heating/HVAC companies over the years. Having been given Horizen Heatings contact info from a client several months ago, I decided to give them a try. I cannot see myself using anyone else anytime soon.
From first point of contact "Deana" Pleasant, personable and extremely helpful. To the service tecnician "Knud" who was extremely knowledgable, friendly, and efficient.
