My wife booked this motel and we had stayed one of their suites, I believe it was room 206. It was really comfortable for six adults. The owners/staffs were very friendly and courteous. I was really skeptical before my arrival regarding this place since reading many bad reviews; however, my experience was wonderful. This may be an old property, but the management struggles hard to keep this place beautiful. As a small business owner, I know the challenges & hardships people face to run a business. We should appreciate their efforts for the service they provide ignoring minute flaws. We had enjoyed fully our night here. They have also a small convenience store right at the office where you can find regular day-to-day items even a bank machine. In the room, there is a snack bar which you can purchase if you like. Our room was was clean and arranged nicely. I would definitely recommend this place for your future stay.

We arrived and were greeted by a friendly staff right off the bat at the main office. The convenience store was also right inside of the office which was so helpful after out long drive. The workers made us feel comfortable and right at home during the whole check in process. The room was very clean and the beds were especially comfy after a long drive. It was so lucky we happened upon this family run place, it was such a nice stay! Would definitely recommend to anybody!

"IF YOU ARE BOOKING THIS MOTEL, READ THIS FIRST"

Our stay at Outpost motel was the worst experience.

The rooms were smelly, looks very old and rusty, dirty & stain everywhere. There was no closet or hangers to hang the clothes. There was no table or chairs to sit and eat food. There was no proper sofa to sit down. The sofa was there, looks very dirty and old, and not at all comfortable to sit-down. There was no room cleaning service. On both days we stayed when we came back the rooms were left open. There were insects on the walls and my kids were not able to sleep after seeing the insects scrolling on the walls. On one night some animal came inside the room and ate and spread all the food garbage inside the room because the main door lock is not working properly.

We booked for 3 nights but left after 2 nights. If you are planning a trip to Waterton, this will be your worst stay for the money you pay, you can get much better rooms, just around the corner for the same amount you pay.

Now after seeing this review, the owner will come and post all sort of stories, (he usually "copy & paste" to all the negative reviews he gets.) He will tell that customer is bad, they have threatened us, they have damaged items, they stayed only 1 night instead 3 nights.

Finally whatever the owner says, the fact remain same, This is a very bad place to stay, because all of his customers cannot be wrong. If you search about this motel, they get 90% negative reviews.

This is a kitchenette suite..
Supposedly it was a free upgrade to the room i got for the night as the cleaning staff quit work without notice..
Makes me worried as to what i would have been put in had the original room booked been ready

Ensure you have owner do a walk through at check out as its been attempted to bill my credit card for an open snack bar that only had 2 pops consumed and paid for.
Yet 2 days after check out. The owner is a belligerent individual who feels its ok to fraudulently bill for untouched merchandise.
Perhaps as a business plan.. remove the snack bar as it is a open method to rip off clients..

All because we posted honest truth.

And if we had paid for the cheapest room.
I assure you.. whatever your price for room 106 initially at regular cost..

I would have likely had a stroke from the shock

Resonable price for a place to sleep comfortably. We really liked the owner and how accommodating he was for us so late at night. We were looking for a low rate as we don’t care about the crappy continental breakfasts and lucrative at previous hotels. This was the best cheap and simple option we could find for a place to sleep, shower, and move on to our next destination

Absolutely horrendous customer service!

I had booked this room for family to stay at during my wedding in Waterton. Unfortunately wildfires swept through Waterton just 3 days before my wedding and I was left scrambling to cancel and move my entire wedding.

When phoning the Outpost Motel, I was greeted with a "HELLO?". I had to ask if I had the right number. I then explained my situation and asked for my money back. The man on the phone then started yelling at me and telling me he's only the manager and he can't change any policies and that the owners set this non-refundable policy. When I asked if I could speak to one of the owners he started laughing and said no, he was the sole person in charge. I asked for him to have some compassion for my situation as I had to cancel several hotels, and rebook a wedding in 72 hours. He laughed and started ranting about him not being in charge of the refund policies in place and I gave up. He was completely rude, DO NOT STAY THERE!

This hotels manager and rooms are disgusting, manager is rude and judging by the bad replies and how he responds to them. You can go stay at the South Country Inn, which has nicer rooms and actually have people working the night shift (even tho they said no motel in Canada has someone working the night shift) every bad review is right. I think this motel has been shut down but hopefully new management is better. Also the flamingo is next door if you want to also go there. 🙂

Filthy place is not suitable as human residence. I will never recommend this motel even if it is free. You can see in photos the old air conditioner is full of dirt, broken and giving bad quality air, it was very hard to breath inside the room. Mice are an other problem in the room I paid for. I believe he was the owner/manager of the motel very bad abusive behavior. When I asked to change my room he refused and eventually I have to leave motel right away even though the guy charged me $50/-. Bathroom door was not fit one can see who is sitting on the toilet.
