We found Square One Water, Heat, and Air through one of the green energy programs, as they appeared to be one of the very few companies who actually knew about and were qualified to install heat pump water heaters. I requested the free quote. Any nervousness evaporated when Shaun gave us a visit - he was friendly, exceedingly patient, helpful, and knowledgeable. I further tested his patience with a barrage of e-mailed questions, which he kept answering with the same wonderful, serving attitude. The quote that he provided for the water heater was competitive, so we were happy to entrust our hot water tank upgrade to Square One. On the day of the install, Shaun and his team, Dre, and Cassidy arrived on time with the same friendly yet professional and respectful attitude. As far as I can tell, they did an excellent job at the install and left our home just as clean as they found it. The discharge air ductwork was not available at the time of the install of the hot water tank, but in a couple weeks his team paid us another visit to complete the install by adding that last missing piece with the same excellent attitude. Based on our experience with them, we highly recommend Square One and would be happy to work with them in the future as well.

Our older furnace stopped working and this company was the first call I made. They Informed me they were very busy and I told them not to worry that there was no crazy rush to get it fixed. I got a call back not even 30 minutes later stating that they could come that very afternoon. The process for a consult was never even brought up as I have always found all these types of services to be reasonable in Stony Plain and it never even crossed my mind. This company charged $500 just to come to diagnose much to my surprise. I will not be using them again.

In-floor heating stopped working over the weekend resulting in a cold house. Square One fit me into their schedule quickly and were able to temporarily fix the issue until parts could be ordered and a permanent repair completed. Shaun was very friendly and knowledgeable and explained the problems and solutions clearly. He also identified other small issues with the system (temp setpoints) and adjusted them free of charge. I rarely leave reviews for companies (good or bad) but was very impressed with this service so felt the need to share.

Service technician did an excellent job in following up with his visual concern, had his supervisor stop by as well to evaluate and investigate possible function concerns. They thoroughly checked out air conditioner operating function and confirmed that it was running as required after doing a complete cleaning of fins etc. Both technicians were very personable and helpful, thanks. Had Shaun over to install a new humidifier and remove an older one. Found Square One to be professional from the start, and thought Shaun was great. Price was reasonable and I paid exactly what I was quoted (which I can’t say for everyone). Shaun actually took it upon himself to try and repair my old one first, before installing the new one, just to see if he could save me some money. Finished product works great and the install was done nice and neat and he incorporated where the old one was hooked up so there weren’t extra holes etc. Will definitely use Square One again. - NOV 2022

Update: had Square One out again as my inducer motor went on my 19 year old furnace. They’re 2 for 2 on being great to deal with. Took my call at 9:30 at night and the guy was over at 7am the next morning. Swapped out the motor and got the heat back on in no time. Ended up charging 300 less than what he had initially told me as he was able to source the parts as a kit instead of individually. Guy was great to deal with (didn’t catch his name this time). Square One continues to be my go-to for HVAC issues - Apr 2024
