DO NOT USE ALBERTA INDOOR COMFORT – COMPLETE SCAMMERS!

I had the worst experience with this company and I want to warn everyone to stay far away from them. My furnace stopped working in February, during a week when it was -25°C. I trusted them to fix it, and all they did was take my money and waste my time.

Day 1: A technician came and charged me $150 for a diagnostic and $499 for a “service,” claiming the furnace just needed cleaning and it would work after that.

Day 2: A cleaner came and did a full vent and heat exchange cleaning, which cost me almost $1,000! After all that, he suddenly claimed my thermostat was broken and that was why the furnace wasn’t working. So why did I just spend $1,500 and still have no heat

Day 3: Another technician showed up and said the problem was a loose cable in the thermostat. Then he tried to sell me a new furnace for $8,000–$10,000 or a “bandage fix” for $3,000 or partial replacement for $6,000. My furnace is only 4 YEARS OLD. Why would I replace it

Day 5: I called another company—the original builder’s installer—and they fixed the real issue for $250. That’s it. Problem solved.

Day 7–45: I kept calling Alberta Indoor Comfort to ask for an explanation and refund. They refused to take my calls, ignored my voicemails, and never called me back. No apology, no responsibility. Nothing. They scammed me and ran.

On top of that:
• They left my bathroom covered in dust and didn’t clean up.
• Left a SHARP SCREW on my carpet where someone could’ve gotten hurt.
• Left fingerprints all over my walls and ceilings when cleaning the vents.

This company is unprofessional, dishonest, and dangerous. They caused more stress and damage than help. They prey on people in emergencies and try to upsell unnecessary repairs to make money.

DO NOT TRUST THEM. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
If I could give zero stars, I would.

Highly Professional and Thorough Service from Alberta Indoor Comfort

I recently had Alberta Indoor Comfort install a new furnace, water heater, and AC, along with duct cleaning and Aeroseal services. I am extremely impressed with the quality of work and the professionalism of the team. They took the time to explain the entire process to me, from amount quote and outlining what to expect at every step. Throughout the installation, they were respectful, answered all my questions, and ensured I was fully informed. The team’s attention to detail and commitment to doing the job right made the whole experience seamless and stress-free. Thank you to everyone at Alberta Indoor Comfort for your excellent service!

Poor communication and service. I scheduled a consultation, and they told me a specific technician was needed for the job. I booked that technician, and when he arrived a week later, he had no idea what the issue was—he hadn’t been given any information and didn’t have the necessary equipment. He had to reschedule and said the office would call with a new date.

The office never called. When I followed up, they had no idea who I was or what the job was about. They said they’d figure it out and call back the next day—nothing. I called again, and once again, no one knew who I was or what the issue was. They promised a callback, which, unsurprisingly, never happened. Another time, they booked an appointment and didn't show up, saying it was a miscommunication.

After all this, they eventually recommended Aero-sealing my vents for what was obviously a blocked/disconnected vent. I was very skeptical but went ahead and paid thousands for it. Now I have expensive sealed vents, no improvement, and still zero heat in my bedroom. No follow-up, no accountability, and no resolution. I’m beyond frustrated with the constant need to chase them down, re-explain everything, and waste my time on redundant appointments.

Would not recommend.

I was very pleased with the work that Sean Brosinsky did at my home. He did the yearly furnace and hot water tank maintenance. He was very thorough and professional. He gave great explanations that I could understand. It turned out that my hot water tank needed a new anode rod, and Sean replaced it today, and he was careful to show me the new rod as well as the old corroded rod which made me feel comfortable about this needed expenditure.

Premium price, premium sales experience. Unfortunately comms after the sale was confirmed were less than premium and the installation was better than the lowest bidder junk I'm used to be but still not premium.

I'm not saying don't use them, but I definitely think you should get a few quotes and flip a coin. Installers were extremely friendly and wore shoe baggies but did not poly-wrap the shelves when cutting near electronics or move a small area rug. I'd rather my floor be dirty than my selves/counters. This feels more egregious as I contacted them early about moving furniture to accommodate the install. To their credit it is very early in the season and there were two trainees.

Explicitly no consideration provided when installing 'cosmetically' damaged goods. I would prefer a premium installer to provide near out of box quality products.

I cannot say enough good things about Michael. We were installing our own furnace and ran into an issue and could not get it to ignite and heat. He came after hours and spent his time trouble shooting. He discovered the manufacturer had recently introduced a new feature for detecting refrigerant leaks that came default on yet did not trigger a fault code and this was what was causing the issues. He was very kind and took his time explaining everything. I would highly recommend Michael and will use him for any future issues.

In summary, my experience has convinced me that this company is both overpriced and incompetent. They provided me with a quote for duct cleaning and aerosealing that far exceeded their competitor's offer. Despite my decision to go with the competitor, Alberta Indoor persisted in calling me, attempting to persuade me to reconsider, and eventually offered to match their competitor's price. Their assurances that they would "do this right" and that their competitor wouldn't didn’t turn out to be true.
On the scheduled day, I kept waiting and they didn’t show up, finally citing an alleged accident as the reason. This caused me to lose a vacation day and miss a doctor's appointment. I remain skeptical about whether there actually was an accident.
After rescheduling, I initially considered not writing a one star review and letting it go, but what I found today convinced me that a one star review is justified. The photos clearly depict the damage they caused to my humidifier, which took 1.5 hours to clean and fix. Fortunately, I had a spare humidifier filter on hand as well as the filter was of no use anymore as you can see in the photo. I am now concerned about potential damage to my heat exchanger.
While there are other issues that could warrant this one-star review, I believe what I described above should suffice. I caution others against succumbing to their persuasive tactics, including boasting about their accreditation with the BBB, which I intend to investigate further.
You may get burnt if you hire this company, as I have unfortunately experienced first hand. Also, the persistent marketing text messages I receive from them are a frustrating reminder of the mess they have left me to deal with.
This was a horrible experience, and has already cost me way more than even their original quote for the work.

Sean was great, he explained everything in detail and made sure we understood what is required for the best operation of our heating & cooling systems. He also advised that he would look into my complaint about being told to keep my phone line open for call backs which I wait around for but do not receive. I would much rather receive a call to advise parts are not available and the appointment will have to be rescheduled than to wait around for confirmation of the appointment and then have to call in to see when you will be coming and then not receive the advised call back.
