While people are starving, they make you wait on hold for hours, make rude and presumptuous comments and then threaten with "would you like me to make you wait another hour?" ... if you say something like- Why would you assume that?"
And then they hang up on you.

Make sure your phone is fully charged and have a charger near by. As you will likely need to recharge or stay plugged in... Ive seen them make people wait up to 4 hours on hold.

Sorely unprofessional agents who (eventually) answer calls who will insult you within seconds and then play the victim.

Considering this is the last option for many citizens, especially those who have zero support from anyone else but themselves, these people are insanely insensitive, rude and inhumane.

Pan handling would likely be a better option.

4 hours of phone calls for a $27 food voucher.
Then the worker asked if I still wanted it. Even they knew it was a joke. I said absolutely, because all I've eaten the past few days is three cans of tuna and some almonds. At least it will be a quick grocery trip, lol. Seems like feeling hungry all the time is the new normal. Great weight loss plan.

Wait on hold for over an hour. Talk to AISH. Emergency food? Call this number after 4:30. You need 10 days of food we'll give you 5. Wait on hold for over an hour. Need an etransfer? Go online and apply to give us a reference number and call us back. Go to account and can't get in using your username and password. Can't get help. No food for you or your son tonight. Call back tomorrow I guess.

Are you starving? Living in the tree? Can't get a glass of water in the desert? Well guess what, the government of alberta is not here to help you. I'm presently living in a car, haven't eaten in two days, struggling to keep enough gas in it to stay warm over night in +4 and what I get told when I call to apply? Skip the job you just started to come to our office. We have a whole section of the government designated to assisting those in need yet we ensure that they arent provided help. If anything happens to me the alberta government is entirely responsible for it. Thank you for taking my taxes to let me freeze.

Alberta Works has a corrupted system. I am in dire need of supports, for daily living & regular medications. My medical specialists have written letters for proof of my severe health problems. Even having my doctors requests & expressive demands, has not encouraged the much needed help from the government. I am not someone that wants to live off a demeaning welfare, because my work skills & credentials are more suited to my life. It is not my choice to have encurred a brain aneurysm in March 2017, which has caused me to have two brain surgeries in less than two years. Now diagnosed with Status Epilepticus, I NEED seizure medications twice a day to keep me out of the hospitals & alive!!.
Now I'm thinking of just dropping out of the governmental systems completely. The day my mother & father signed for my birth certificate, the government of Canada then became my guardians of life. Yet, now I'm not entitled to the much needed care I have to have!!!. Today, my medications are gone & I'm not allowed to get more because I can't pay for them, and Ab works won't help me. Their population control is slowly killing me🤕💀😷☠️.
Forgive me that I have nothing encouraging to write about Ab works & the government.

Well I am only getting 959 a month and that does not go far when you got bills and rent to pay and what is left is not even enough to get food so with the econmy they should at be more honest to the people instead of only giving 959 a month
